Summary of 2017 Hotline:

Many thanks to the 21 CFP® volunteers that gave up part of their Sunday to participate in our annual event! Our 21 Certified Financial Planning volunteers answered 134 calls from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Based on the 134 total calls received, each planner averaged 6 calls for each shift. The heaviest volume of calls was the first hour (10 – 11) and then from 2:15 to 3:15 (Halftime for  NFL games??).

Percentage of questions breaks down as follows:

Investment questions comprised 28%

Retirement 28%

Taxes 15%

Estate Planning 5%

Insurance 8%

Mortgages 6%

Other (SSA, Nursing Care, Debt Management, etc.) 10%

Of note, the distribution of questions was roughly the same. Callers were asking the same questions, but at a higher volume than 2016’s call in.

Age breakdown:

12% were under age 50

19%% were 51-60

41% were 61-70

19% were 71-80

9% were 80+
